We have had a great week for planting this year’s veg/herb seeds – cabbage 200 seeds, lettuce 500 seeds, leeks 1000 seeds, onions 5000 seeds, broad beans 1000 seeds, beetroot 2000 seeds, broccoli, marigolds and thyme in the polytunnel. The weather has been great, but unusual for this time of year! Even Jay is feeling the heat !
We have already had to start irrigation of the seed area as the ground is dry down to approx 2 inches so the seeds need a little water to germinate.
If any volunteers do any seeding in the area can you use the 10ft walk and seed row board, and use the sand and labels to mark the line. If it is dry give it a watering.
